Have you installed surveillance cameras where you live?!
Desire for security, theft prevention, affordable technology.
Many have already installed them, many are considering doing so, to meet these needs. And I mean both owners of individual houses and those who live in apartments in buildings.
But what does the law say about this? This is a question I have been asked many times, since as a lawyer I also have professional duties as Data Protection Officer.
In principle, one has to comply with all the obligations of Privacy, i.e. notices, limited duration of records and others. If you violate these rules, you risk heavy penalties.
On the other hand, cameras can be installed without 'red tape' if the recordings are without sound and images of private (such as the entrance to a house) and not public places are recorded. It is understood that not even condominium areas can be filmed.
In addition, it should be borne in mind that this recording cannot be circulated or passed on to third parties, unless it is sent to the police and attached to a complaint, to request their intervention.
